Richmond RCMP seek help in locating suspect in hit-and-run of 11-year-old boy

ON Wednesday, October 5, shortly before 9 a.m., frontline Richmond RCMP officers responded to the area of No. 1 Road and Tucker Avenue after reports that an 11-year-old boy had been struck.

The boy was pushing his bicycle in a marked pedestrian crosswalk when he was struck by a gray minivan. This minivan then proceeded to sideswipe another vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The boy received non-life-threatening injuries, but was transported to hospital. He has since been released. No other parties were reportedly injured.

The suspect allegedly driving the gray minivan was described as an East Asian woman, possibly in her 50s, with a bob-style haircut. The gray minivan may have light damage present.

Richmond RCMP say they are actively investigating this disturbing collision and are very interested in locating the driver of this vehicle. They would greatly appreciate the public’s assistance in this matter.
