Ridge Meadows RCMP no longer need witnesses in shooting involving kid

RIDGE Meadows RCMP announced on Thursday they were no longer seeking witnesses in relation to a shooting involving a 10-year-old boy.

Last week on Friday (June 29), police released a statement seeking witnesses in relation to file #2018-14574 where a Maple Ridge boy suffered a gunshot injury. He was transported to hospital for treatment and remains under care.

“Thank you to those who have come forward and provided information,” said Inspector Aaron Paradis. “We understand the public’s interest in this case however, releasing any further specifics in relation to this file, at this time, could jeopardize our investigation. We assure the public this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety”.
