Sean Kang, 27, of Brampton arrested in ride-share carjacking

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged a male concerning a carjacking robbery of a ride-share driver which occurred in the City of Mississauga.

On Wednesday, January 11 at approximately 8:40 p.m., police received a call for an alleged carjacking near Bloor Street and Fieldgate Drive in Mississauga. The victim, a ride-share driver, reported that a male customer had allegedly threatened bodily harm with a weapon, resulting in their vehicle being stolen along with the property contained inside.

Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau recovered the victim’s vehicle and property approximately 15 kilometres from where they had been stolen. The victim sustained no physical injuries due to the incident.

On Monday, January 23, 27-year-old Sean Kang of Brampton turned himself into the police, where he was arrested and charged with one count of robbery. His next court date is March 13 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
