‘Caps back in action on Saturday at FC Dallas

SEATTLE, WA – Vancouver Whitecaps FC recorded a 4-0 loss against Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC at Lumen Field this Tuesday evening.

Seattle were given a penalty kick early on, with midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro converting from the spot in the fifth minute of the match.

The home side built on their early lead as left back Kelyn Rowe’s forward pass found Jimmy Medranda right outside the box, who’s touch connected to Raúl Ruidíaz, his strike then rolled to the bottom right corner in the 28th minute.

The Blue & White looked to find their rhythm in the midfield as some opportunities came through later in the first half, highlighted by a close range shot from Jake Nerwinski that was deflected just before it could reach the target.

The second half began with another short pass from Rowe, this time rolling to Léo Chú on the left side of the field, his cross found Ruidíaz inside the box, tucking home his second goal in the 51st minute of the match.

Midfielder Andrés Cubas made his ‘Caps debut in the 65th minute as he came on the field for Florian Jungwirth.

As the match progressed, attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld’s long through ball pass found Déiber Caicedo in the final third, as his chance was sent wide in the 67th minute.

Nerwinski was substituted off for Tristan Blackmon due to the Concussion Substitute Initiative in the 75th minute of the match.

The home side continued with their pressure in the midfield and final third, with substitute Will Bruin controlling the ball off his chest and passing it to Daniel Leyva in the process, his long through pass connected to right back Alex Roldan, who extended his side’s lead in the 89th minute.
