Serious two-vehicle collision in Langley

ON Friday, November 14 at approximately 7:22 p.m., Langley RCMP were called to a two-vehicle hit-and-run collision involving an unmarked Abbotsford Police vehicle. An on-duty Abbotsford officer was driving in the 5200-block of 264 Street in Langley, when they had a collision with a white GMC Canyon pickup truck. The truck had two occupants that fled on foot from the scene after the collision.

Officers from both the Langley RCMP and Abbotsford Police Department attended the collision to assist the officer who was injured. The officer sustained minor injuries and is expected to be released from hospital shortly. Police are still attempting to identify and locate the people involved in the crash to ensure their wellbeing.

“The Langley RCMP are leading the investigation and have enlisted the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), to assist in determining the cause of the collision,” says Cpl. Brett Urano, RCMP spokesperson. “We are requesting anyone who may have been driving in the area with dash cam footage or had witnessed the crash or know who was in the vehicle, but have not yet spoken to police to call the Langley RCMP. The investigation is in its infancy and ongoing.”

Langley RCMP thanked all first responders who attended the collision and have assisted thus far in the investigation.
