[Monday night report: THERE are reports of a shooting in Coquitlam. Also, a vehicle was found on fire in the area.]

COQUITLAM RCMP announced on Tuesday that on Monday at approximately 9:20 p.m., Coquitlam RCMP responded to a shooting in the 300-block of Decaire Street. One male victim was taken to hospital.

Investigators continue to gather evidence. Police believe there is no further threat to the public in relation to this incident.

RCMP did not mention anything about a vehicle fire less than two kilometres from the shooting scene at Hillside Avenue and Croteau Court.
