Shots fired at Indian restaurant in South Surrey

SURREY Police Service (SPS) officers are investigating an overnight ‘shots fired’ incident that has resulted in property damage to a South Surrey business.

The business is an Indian restaurant.

At about 2:20 a.m. on Monday, October 6, SPS frontline officers responded to calls of possible shots fired outside a business located in the 2100-block King George Boulevard. Officers confirmed that damage to the exterior of the building had been caused by gunshots. The business was closed at the time, no staff were inside, and there were no reports of any injuries.

Officers remain on scene and will be examining the area for physical and digital evidence.

A restaurant belonging to the same chain was shot at in Maple Ridge 10 days ago. Ridge Meadows RCMP told The VOICE in an email that on September 27 at approximately 3 a.m., they responded to a report of shots fired in the 11700-block of 218th Street in Maple Ridge. “Frontline officers attended and extensively patrolled the area before locating evidence of multiple shots being fired at a business in the area. No injuries were reported,” they added.
