RIDGE Meadows RCMP on Sunday said that they responded to the area of Selkirk and 223rd Street on Saturday night for a report of alleged gunshots.
They tweeted: “This is an isolated incident & there is no threat to public safety. Because the investigation is in early stages no further details are available. More to follow on Tuesday.”
But even as the RCMP failed to inform the public about what exactly had happened, a witness told CTV that he heard six shots being fired. Witnesses said they heard two vehicles drive away at high speed just after the shooting. One bullet hit an apartment nearby and it’s possible that someone could have been injured or killed.
CTV was told by a Mountie that one person was injured – something that the RCMP left out from their tweet.
CTV reported that shortly after the shooting, video shows a white Hyundai sedan with a shattered passenger-side window parked near the emergency at nearby Ridge Meadows Hospital.
