CANADIAN High Commissioner in New Delhi, Nadir Patel, tweeted on Sunday that for Canadians in Punjab, “we have now added special flights from Amritsar April 7th and 9th.” He added: “Details have been sent to those registered with us on ROCA.”
For Canadians in South India, there was this message: ” Canadians in Southern India: Book your tickets here https://forms.gle/NXhiDYvQVNSaGhk38… for the flight from #Bengaluru on April 8. Also see latest ROCA message for more info.”
Meanwhile, Patel tweeted on Monday morning (from New Delhi): “Second special flight left Delhi this morning with 300+ #Canadians on their way home. The logistics have been complex, we appreciate your patience and understanding @CanadainIndia“
Mandy Grewal reacted to that tweet: “Thats awsome. Some more $3000 tickets. Are you also offering a fund to help some of the Canadians unable to afford this ridiculous price? Kindly advise.”
And “Canadian Punjaban” tweeted: “What about Permanent residents who stranded here in india?”
And there was this advice: “Not receiving your ROCA messages, despite registering? • Verify that the e-mail that you have entered on ROCA is correct • Check your spam/junk folder • On your ROCA profile – change your departure date to a later date • Ensure your location is set to India.”
