Sri Lankan Cricket investigating incident involving player on flight

COLOMBO — Sri Lankan cricket officials have launched an inquiry following reports that one of its players mistakenly attempted to open the cabin door on a flight to London at the weekend.

According to a report submitted by Sri Lanka A’s team manager, Ramith Rambukwella thought he was opening the toilet door on the aircraft but instead pulled the cabin door. The report said Rambukwella apologized to passengers after they pointed out his mistake.

A statement by Sri Lanka Cricket says “an inquiry will be conducted based on the manager’s report and disciplinary action will be taken on the player concerned if found guilty.”

The Sri Lanka A team was travelling from Grenada to London on Sunday after its tour of the Caribbean when the alleged incident occurred, the statement said.
