Stolen truck found in water at Kits Beach

VANCOUVER Police are trying to determine how a stolen truck ended up in the waters off Kits Beach.

Police were called just after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday by a passerby who spotted tire marks in the sand leading into the water off Kits Beach in the area of the basketball courts. Officers were able to determine the truck was unoccupied and had been reported stolen early Thursday morning.

Officers were working with the Vancouver Parks Board and the Coast Guard to arrange for the safe removal of the truck.

Anyone who may have information about the stolen vehicle or how it got in the water, is asked to call police at 604-717-3321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
