Sunshine Coast RCMP seek information from public after incidents believed to be related

SUNSHINE Coast RCMP are investigating three separate incidents from December 20 and December 21, 2024, that they believe are related.

On December 20 at approximately 12:40 a.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to the 12800-block of Sunshine Coast Highay for a report of a male who had been stabbed. Two male suspects fled the area in a vehicle prior to RCMP attending. A local male was airlifted to a Lower Mainland hospital with serious injuries, but has since been released.

On December 20 at approximately 11 p.m., Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to a report of a male who had been shot in the Rondeview area of Francis Peninsula Road in Madeira Park. Two male suspects fled the area in a vehicle prior to RCMP attending. A non-local male suffered a non-lethal gunshot wound and is recovering.

Immediately following the shooting, sometime between 11:30 p.m. on December 20 and 1 a.m. on December 21, a vehicle crashed into a ditch on Eureka Place near Redrooffs Road in Halfmoon Bay. This vehicle is suspected to have been involved in the earlier reported shooting.

Sunshine Coast RCMP say they do not believe the general public is at risk. These incidents are believed to be related and not random in nature.

Sunshine Coast RCMP are seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed either of the above-noted incidents or anyone who may have CCTV/dashcam footage from the dates / times in question.
