THE Lower Mainland District RCMP announced on Monday the selection of Langley RCMP’s newest Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Superintendent Harm Dosange.

The RCMP said that over the course of his 23 years of service, Dosange has worked in a number of areas of policing and most recently served as the Community Services Officer in Surrey where he oversaw the Youth Unit, the Emergency Operations and Planning Unit, the Community Response Units and the Diversity and Indigenous Peoples Unit, along with all of the proactive enforcement teams.

This won’t be his first tour of Langley Detachment as he previously served as a Watch Commander in 2017. In 2019 he was commissioned to the rank of Inspector and served as both a Regional and Divisional Duty Officer, prior to returning to Surrey in 2021.

Dosange grew up in Surrey and has spent his entire career in the Lower Mainland. Prior to joining the RCMP as a Regular Member, he worked at the Surrey Detachment as a municipal employee and as a Surrey RCMP summer student. The RCMP said Dosange has a passion for the communities he serves and has been very involved in the organization of the RCMP Classic, a basketball tournament that he competed in as a student.

Dosange said: “I am honoured and excited to serve as the Detachment Commander for the Langley RCMP. I am committed to engaging with both municipalities to continue to advance their strategic priorities and keep their communities safe and I’m looking forward to working with the police officers and support staff at the detachment.”

“Superintendent Dosange is a great choice to lead the Langley RCMP, with a wealth of experience in community policing, and having previously served within Langley. There are many municipal policing priorities for the Township of Langley we need to make progress on. Council and I look forward to working with him in the years ahead,” said Township of Langley Mayor Eric Woodward.

“On behalf of Langley City Council, I would like to welcome to Superintendent Harm Dosange, as the new Officer-in-Charge” said Mayor Nathan Pachal. “We look forward to working closely with him, the RCMP members, and support staff as we implement strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening public safety and enhancing the effectiveness of policing in our community.”

“Superintendent Dosange will bring his extensive knowledge and experience of policing in the Lower Mainland back to the Langley RCMP detachment,” said Assistant Commissioner Brian Edwards, Lower Mainland District Commander. “He understands the complexities of policing in this region and I know he is committed to leading the detachment while supporting the municipalities and members moving forward.”
