SURREY RCMP on Saturday tweeted: “It was our honour to present Mr. Brar a copy of his photograph with our officers from the Surrey Vaisakhi Parade today. Thanks to all who made this moment a reality & demonstrated how social media can be a force of good.”
On Tuesday, CBC reported that a Sikh gentleman had waited 20 minutes in a lineup at the booth during the Vaisakhi celebration for the “honour” of standing between two officers because “they do a lot to keep us safe.”
Volunteer Amandeep Takhar used his phone to take his photo, but the gentleman didn’t have an email or a phone number.
However, on Tuesday afternoon, Surrey RCMP tweeted: “Good news – the gentleman in this photo has been identified! He’ll be visiting our detachment soon to proudly receive a copy of his photo with our officers. Thanks to everyone for their assistance.”
