SURREY Police Service (SPS) announced on Wednesday afternoon that the man who was the subject of a public appeal in an alleged sexual assault that occurred on Tuesday, August 26 has now been identified by police. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
On August 26 at approximately 3:10 a.m., a female victim was walking along the sidewalk toward the bus stop in the 9800-block of King George Boulevard when she was approached by a South Asian man who asked to use her phone.
When the victim refused the suspect pushed her into a nearby bush and then allegedly sexually assaulted her. The victim, who suffered minor injuries, fought off the suspect and he fled northbound.
