SURREY RCMP have arrested a man suspected of two holiday break and enters where Christmas presents were taken.
On December 16, Surrey RCMP received two reports of break and enters to residences in the area around 61st Avenue and 185t- Street. Both incidents involved a man attempting to access residential garages and, in one incident, the suspect took clothing and toys that were destined for underneath the Christmas tree.
Surrey RCMP Property Crime Team identified the suspect as Eugene Lane, a 34 year-old Surrey resident, and with assistance from Integrated Air Services, Integrated Police Dog Services, as well as Surrey RCMP frontline and investigative services, police located Lane and recovered the items that had been taken.
Lane has been charged with two counts of break and enter with intent to commit theft and has been remanded into custody.
