POPULAR RCMP Insp. Garry Begg is rumoured to have decided to run for Surrey Council as an independent.
Begg’s retirement was announced in an internal RCMP email by Surrey RCMP Chief Superintendent Bill Fordy on Thursday, according to sources. His last working day will be next week.
Begg has a lot of support in the South Asian community as well.
It appears that many prominent personalities such as former Surrey MLA Brenda Locke will run as independents and later form a coalition.
