Surrey RCMP investigate possible weapon’s possession in Whalley

SURREY RCMP are investigating an incident involving the possible possession of a firearm by a male in Whalley.

On Thursday at 5:37 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 9600-block of 137th Street after receiving a report of a male who was possibly in possession of a firearm.   Attending officers were able to locate the male who was subsequently taken into custody without incident. 

The area around the residence may remain closed off for some time as the investigation continues.

While this investigation is still in its early stages initial indications are that this incident stems from an ongoing dispute between parties known to one another.
