Surrey RCMP looking for hit-and-run driver after two pedestrians struck at 72 Avenue and 130 Street

AT about 9 p.m. on Sunday (October 26), Surrey RCMP were advised by the B.C. Ambulance Service that two pedestrians had been struck and injured at the intersection of 72 Avenue and 130 Street.
The two victims, a male and a female in their mid 20′, were crossing 72 Avenue in the marked crosswalk on the east side of the intersection with 130 Street when they were struck by a white or light coloured vehicle, possibly a Mazda. The Mazda was had been traveling northbound on  130 Avenue and had turned eastbound onto 72 Avenue. The vehicle did not stop, and speed off eastbound on 72 Avenue.
Both pedestrians were transported to hospital by the B.C. Ambulance Service, and are being treated for non-life threatening lower body injuries, consisting of several fractures.  Police are looking for the suspect vehicle which would have damage to the front and hood  area.
Surrey R.C.M.P. are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or observed the light coloured Mazda type vehicle speeding away from the scene of the collision, to call the Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502 or to call CrimeStoppers.
