Surrey shooting suspect Tevain Lloyd arrested

SURREY RCMP announced on Wednesday that shooting suspect Tevain Lloyd was arrested on his Canada-wide warrant.  

On April 19, Surrey RCMP issued a media release requesting the public’s assistance with locating Lloyd.  Later the same day information was received that led to his arrest. He was located in Vancouver in the 100-block of Alexander Street and taken into custody by Vancouver Police officers.

Lloyd was arrested for aggravated assault, discharging firearm with intent, and using a firearm in the commission of an indicatable offence.  He remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.

On December 30, 2021, Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a shooting in the 13900-block of Laurel Drive. A man was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. (see previous news release).

Through investigation the Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit identified a suspect. A report recommending charges was submitted to BC Prosecution Service and in March 2022, and charges were approved.
