AT approximately 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Richmond RCMP assisted Richmond Fire at a residential fire in the 8700-block of No. 1 Road.

The lone occupant of the home, a female in her sixties, was located inside unconscious.  Emergency crews were unable to revive her.

Police said further details were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

They said that at this time, the fire does not appear to have been suspicious in nature.

Richmond Fire and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate.
