ON October 4 at approximately 2 p.m., New Westminster Police officers were dispatched to Westminster Pier Park after an unprovoked attack on a teenager. The injuries sustained by the teenager required hospital treatment. Following a thorough investigation, police identified and arrested the suspect.

Devin Monteleone, 30, of Burnaby has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Investigators say they are aware of the similarities between this assault and an assault that occurred on 6th Street on September 27 in New Westminster.

“Investigators are looking to see if this individual is involved in any other similar offences in the city,” said Sgt. Justine Thom on Wednesday. “Thanks to our patrol members who worked thoughtfully and quickly to progress these investigations.”
