A suspect has been charged in the death of a man in East Vancouver on Sunday morning, as Vancouver Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the homicide.

Dwight William Kematch, 39, is now charged with second-degree murder, and remains in custody.

VPD responded around 1 a.m. on Sunday to a 9-1-1 call from a home near Knight Street and East 33rd Avenue. Police officers arrested the suspect inside the home, where the deceased victim was also discovered.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Alexander Lo of Vancouver.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by VPD’s homicide unit.
