ON Sunday, January 28, Narinder Singh, President of Surrey’s Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib presented $15,000 each to Make A Wish Society, Ronald McDonald House B.C. & Yukon, and the Delta School District for their Kids Meal Program.

The money was raised through the 8th Fundraise Dinner held last December in memory of Char Sahibzadee.

Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke appreciated the contributions made by Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib and the Guru Nanak Food Bank. Locke announced that the City of Surrey is actively working towards providing a permanent space for Guru Nanak Food Bank, which has been serving the community since its inception in July 2020. Currently, the food bank operates from a modest 1000-square-foot unit near the gurdwara.

Delta School Board Trustee Nimmi Dola, along with officials from the school district and representatives from the recipient charities were also present.

Also, Narinder Singh and Locke presented $2,600 to the Delta School District.
