ON Thursday, June 6 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP attended to a residence in the 16200-block of 88 Avenue as part of an ongoing police investigation.

During the course of this investigation, a suspect barricaded themselves inside the residence and refused to exit.

Surrey RCMP requested the assistance of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team and, after a lengthy period of time, the suspect was taken into custody.

Police said that as this matter is still under investigation further information may be released at a later time.
