AT about 5:11 a.m. on Sunday (May 9), Surrey RCMP responded to reports of two house fires in the 12600-block of 76th Avenue. One house was under construction and was vacant. The second home was evacuated, and no one was injured.

Several neighboring houses were evacuated out of caution.

Surrey Fire is on scene and will be for some time. Police have closed off 76th Avenue west of 128th and east of 125th Street. Surrey RCMP investigators are on scene and are expected to continue their work in the area for several hours, which may affect commuter traffic.
