Man killed in Burnaby shooting (with videos)

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced just before 10 p.m. that it was heading out to Burnaby for a fatal shooting that occurred today (Saturday) at 7 p.m. at 13 Avenue and 6 Street.

One man was taken to hospital and has since died of his injuries.

The man was apparently gunned down on the roadside. Video sent to The VOICE showed a woman screaming, “No! No!” while some men tried to render assistance. One man shouted, “Get water! Get water! Get water!” and another man ran up with a bottle of water.

Another man shouted, “Where is the f–king air? Give him some …!”

Anyone with dashcam/video surveillance footage of the shooting is asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP or call the IHIT line 1-877-551-4448.

IHIT announced on Sunday that the investigation continues and that it continues to work closely with Burnaby RCMP and the Lower Mainland RCMP  to gather evidence.

It added: “No further details yet at this time. We’re working to provide an update and media availability anticipated for Monday morning.”
