Suspicious fire in Surrey house “most likely” arson, say RCMP (update)

SURREY RCMP on Wednesday had confirmed to The VOICE that a house fire at 14667 108A Avenue early Wednesday morning was considered to be suspicious and that fire investigators had been called in.

Several police cars attended the scene and  secured the area. Police said there were no injuries.

On Thursday, Cpl. Scotty Schumann told The VOICE that the fire inspector had yet to provide his report to the RCMP investigators.

He added: “[The fire] still appears to be suspicious; so most likely it is going to be arson.” The house has been given back to the owner.
