Teej festival falls on the third day of moonlit fortnight of Sawan month ( in July or August).

The festival is celebrated all over India,however in Punjab the fervor of its celebration swings sky high.
Originally, planned to be celebrated in the Shanti Niketan ,in the premises of Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Surrey,but after the denial to hold it there, it was celebrated at Lovely Banquet Hall 7168,128th Street Surrey on Friday,July 19,2013.

It was a proud presentation of The Pacific Canadian Multicultural Arts, Surrey which had earlier presented Holi on March 24,2013 ,in the Sangham Mandir Delta.

As it is basically a ladies’ funtion, many ladies,young girls dressed in their choicest suits and sries came to add glamor to this festival. In Punjab outdoor activities such as swinging on the swings hooked atop the trees coupled with singing , charactrise the festivities, but here it was basically an indoor program of singing folk songs and dancing particularly Giddha of Punjab and Punjab based cultural items such as spinning on charka,churning with mudhani were the high lights of the show.

Karuna Joshi Mceed the program besides being the sheet anchor of the program. Aman Atwal thoroughly directed each and every items. From the maticulous perfomance of the artists Atwal’s directed thorough rehearsals were evident. The items included: songs such as : sadke sadke jandiyee mutiare nee,paike paike jaan waliye, maan di jhalli,babul payare ( an emtionl presentation : a dedication Atwal made to her maternal uncle who was known for doing humanitarian work) kala shaw kala,maanwan te dhiyan,charkha chanan da ,main kattan preetan nal, giddha, song from KiranTohan and Kiran Sharma.

some jokes and recitation of Urdu couplets and an Urdu Ghazal also filled in the gaps between performances.

The key performers were : Aman Atwal ( figured almos in all the items) Surinder Dhaliwal,Santosh Gupta,Urmila Kataria,Sharan Tihara, Rashpal Dulai,Gubaksh Mangat,Prabhat. Some gents too were invited to intrude in the program ,namely ,Narinder Prihar,Amrit Arora, Mr.Dhami, Narender Singla,Kedar Joshi,Kasturi Goel, Atwal and Krishan Bector etc.

All acclaimed that it was a spectacular show.
