Threat of violence at New Westminster Secondary School sparks police response

ON Friday, May 2 at approximately 9 a.m., New Westminster Police responded to a 9-1-1 call that described someone making threats of violence towards another person at New Westminster Secondary School.

Officers immediately attended the school to locate those involved, speak to witnesses and collect evidence. Police said their investigation into this incident is in the early stages and they are working with school administration.

“We believe this is an isolated incident between two people at the school,” said Sgt. Justine Thom. “Parents and staff may see some police presence at the school for the remainder of the day. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
