Moga: Two persons allegedly kidnapped a 17-year-old girl from her relative’s a house in Dala village near here, police said Tuesday.
In her complaint lodged with the police, Gurmeet Kaur, mother of the girl, stated that she along with her daughter had come to Dala village from her native Machhike village a few days back to stay with her relative.
On Sunday evening, two persons kidnapped the girl, a student of class XI, from her relative’s home, bundled her in a car and escaped, police said today.
Police said the accused had been identified as Kuldeep Singh and Sukha Singh of Machhike village and were known to the victim’s family.
Both the accused are still at large, the police said.
Five days back, another 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from Khosa Randhir Village of Kotisekhan Police Station when she was returning from her school.
In yet another incident a week ago, a Class IX student of Talwandi Malhianwala village was also kidnapped while she returning from her school.
Police is yet to trace out the kidnapped girls.
Meanwhile, taking serious view of increase in number of kidnapping cases involving minor girls in the district, SSP Moga, Surjit Singh Grewal today constituted a Special Investigation Team to solve the cases.
