An outbreak has been declared on the second floor of Kopernik Lodge after four residents tested positive for COVID-19 and on 2 South at Lakeview Long Term Care Home after 10 residents tested positive for COVID-19.

Outbreak measures have been implemented at Kopernik Lodge and Lakeview, and all group activities have been suspended. Visits to both facilities have been paused, and visits to the second floor at Kopernik Lodge and activities on 2 South at Lakeview are suspended until outbreak measures are lifted.

An outbreak has also been declared on the fifth floor of the Joseph & Rosalie Segal & Family Health Centre after two residents tested positive for COVID-19. The fifth floor is closed to new admissions and transfers at this time. All non-essential visits have been suspended until the outbreak measures have been lifted.

VCH said it immediately implemented strict infection prevention and control protocols to prevent further transmission of COVID-19.
