VANCOUVER Police acted on Tuesday on a BC Supreme Court injunction obtained by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority in response to an unauthorized encampment on Port property near CRAB Park. Police estimate that 60 people vacated the area in response, but 46 people refused to leave.
Police arrived at the site at around 6 a.m. on Tuesday and worked all day to help campers leave. At around 4:30 p.m., dozens of people sat on the ground and refused to leave. Police made multiple requests and then warnings about the injunction order. However, 46 people chose not to comply with the court order and were arrested for civil contempt of court.
