VANCOUVER Police are searching for Harjot Singh Samra, 27, wanted Canada-wide. He was to report to his halfway house in Vancouver once he was released from prison on Thursday, but failed to do so.

Samra is 5’9”, weighs 252 pounds, and has a heavy build. He has brown/black hair with a balding hairline, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, black shorts with white detailing, and was carrying a black duffle bag.

VPD officers spotted Samra driving a vehicle near Cambie Street and Marine Drive at around 6 p.m. on August 10.  They attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Samra drove away at a high rate of speed. Investigators are now recommending several new charges of dangerous driving against him.

Samra is a federal offender, charged for numerous drug and weapons offences.

Anyone who sees Samra, or has information on his whereabouts, is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately
