A 51-year-old man died after he was hit by a vehicle in the West End just after midnight on Tuesday.
Vancouver police officers were called to Davie and Thurlow streets in response to a two-car collision between a Dodge Ram and a Toyota Prius. The impact of that collision resulted in the Dodge Ram skidding and hitting a wheelchair-bound man on the sidewalk of the intersection.
Investigators are determining whether impairment was a contributing factor.

This is Vancouver’s 10th pedestrian fatality of 2021.
