On September 20, at approximately 10 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to an incident in the North Inkster Industrial area.
North District General Patrol officers, assisted by members of the Tactical Support Team, attended a residence in the 200-block of Hazelton Drive, where they located a deceased adult male victim. The victim was transported to hospital.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
Interestingly, Indian Police had already informed media in Punjab about his murder on Wednesday as Canadian Police apparently contacted their Indian counterparts in order to inform his family members before releasing his name here.
IANS reported from Chandigarh, India, that his alias was “Duneke” and he was wanted by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA). Indian Police told the media that he had been killed in an inter-gang rivalry.
IANS reported that he was an associate of the Devinder Bambiha Gang in Punjab, and had escaped to Canada in 2017 on forged documents.
On Wednesday, his name figured among the list of 43 “gangsters” released by the National Investigation Agency, which sought information about his illegal properties, IANS reported.
