Woman dead after two shot in Maple Ridge

ON Friday at approximately 8:45 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline officers responded to a report that a person had been allegedly shot in the area of the 22600 block of 119 Avenue in Maple Ridge.

Police found a woman and a man had sustained gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to hospital by BC Ambulance Services. The man sustained non-life-threatening injures, however, the woman later died of her injuries.

Police do not believe this is a random incident.

Ridge Meadows RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) that has taken conduct of the investigation.

Investigators would like to speak to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police or if they have dash camera video, or residential video surveillance. If you have information that could assist with the investigation, you are requested to contact the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448.
