Woman dead after two shot in Maple Ridge

ON Friday at approximately 8:45 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline officers responded to a report that a person had been allegedly shot in the area of the 22600 block of 119 Avenue in Maple Ridge.

Police found a woman and a man had sustained gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to hospital by BC Ambulance Services. The man sustained non-life-threatening injures, however, the woman later died of her injuries.

Police do not believe this is a random incident.

Ridge Meadows RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) that has taken conduct of the investigation.
