New Delhi – A sex racket was busted in New Delhi after two Uzbek women, held hostage for five months in a house and repeatedly sexually abused by customers, escaped, police Tuesday said.
A woman pimp has been arrested.
The two women from Uzbekistan managed to flee from the clutches of the sex racket Sunday and reached Safdarjung Hospital, where they sought help of hospital authorities to approach police.
“The victims had come to India on tourist visas. They met a woman pimp, Dilsukh, in Agra last year. Dilsukh invited them to Delhi and let them stay in her house in south Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar,” said a police officer.
Dilsukh is also from Uzbekistan. She forced the victims into prostitution, added the officer.
The victims told police that they were sexually exploited several times at the house, from where Dilsukh has been running a sex racket for several years.
She also sent women to hotels in the city.
“Dilsukh was arrested Monday,” said the officer.
One of the victims is two months pregnant.
“We are facing difficulties during investigation as the women cannot speak Hindi or English. They somehow managed to tell us that they were also beaten up several times when they tried to resist,” said the officer.–IANS
