COQUITLAM RCMP have identified and arrested the suspect who committed a series of indecent acts near Maillard Middle School in Coquitlam.
Between May 27 and June 4, an unknown male was seen around Maillard Middle School located at 1300 Rochester Avenue in Coquitlam in a series of indecent acts. These incidents occurred during school hours; however, the suspect did not approach any persons.
The Coquitlam RCMP Investigational Support Team (IST) assumed conduct of the files, working with Coquitlam RCMP Youth Section and School District No.43 – Coquitlam.
On Saturday, June 15, Coquitlam RCMP arrested a youth suspect.
The youth suspect has been released on conditions to not go to any locations where anyone under the age of 18 may be, including but not limited to schools, daycares, playgrounds, recreation centres.
“We would like to thank the public from their assistance in these investigations,” said Media Relations Officer, Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. “Coquitlam RCMP worked diligently together to identify, locate and arrest the individual responsible to ensure the ongoing safety of the community.”
The suspect’s name will not be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
