Serious pedestrian-involved collision in Surrey

RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) is investigating a serious overnight collision that has resulted in a pedestrian being sent to hospital with serious injuries.

At approximately 11:56 p.m. on July 15, RCMP SPOSU officers were dispatched to a collision between a pedestrian and a single vehicle near the intersection of 108 Avenue and 142 Street in Surrey.

The pedestrian, an adult male, was transported to hospital in critical condition. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) attended the scene to assist with the examination of the collision scene, and SPOSU’s Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area of 108 Avenue and 142 Street shortly before midnight on July 15 and witnessed the collision or has either dashcam footage or CCTV footage to contact Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency number 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-22639 (SU).
