Alvis Anjesh Singh, 44, is Vancouver’s homicide victim

VANCOUVER Police are investigating the city’s eighth homicide of the year, which occurred Friday night in South Vancouver.

Police responded to 9-1-1 calls of shots fired across from River Front Park near Kent Avenue and Kerr Street around 10 p.m. on June 4.  Alvis Anjesh Singh, 44, was found deceased in his vehicle in the area. Investigators believe the suspect’s vehicle, a silver SUV with a sun roof, drove east on Kent Avenue after the shots were heard.  Police are looking for the three people who were seen inside that vehicle.

Minutes later, a burnt out SUV was found by Sexsmith Elementary School near West 59 Avenue and Ontario Street.  The investigation is still in the preliminary stages, but investigators believe the burnt out vehicle is connected to the homicide.

No arrests have been made at this time.
