THE BC Liberal’s Leadership Election Organizing Committee (LEOC) on Monday announced that due to the federal election campaign and the ongoing wildfire situation, the first debate of the BC Liberal leadership contest has been rescheduled to September 28.
The debate will be held virtually and streamed online starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28.
This will be the first in a series of debates that will be held across the province throughout the fall as the party moves towards selecting a new leader on February 5, 2022. Further details on other planned events will come at a later date.
The party will be reaching out to members and supporters over the coming weeks to provide a opportunity to submit themes and questions to be asked and addressed during the debate.
The election of a new leader will take place on February 5. In order to be eligible to vote, the deadline for individuals to join the party or renew a membership is December 17.
