Burnaby collision leaves pedestrian in critical condition

BURNABY RCMP are investigating a collision that sent a pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition.

On Sunday, March 30 just after 5:45 p.m., Burnaby RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian near Hastings Street and Rosser Avenue. It was reported that a five-ton truck was travelling west on Hastings Street and was making a southbound turn onto Rosser Avenue when the collision occurred.

The 64-year-old female victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck remained on scene and has spoken to investigators.

Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has assumed conduct of the investigation.

“Our Criminal Collision Investigation Team is working to determine all factors that led to the collision,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP. “Please contact our investigators if you witnessed this collision or if you have dashcam or surveillance video in the area.”

Police are requesting anyone that witnessed the incident or may have dashcam video in the area of Hastings Street and Rosser Avenue between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., on Sunday, March 30, to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2025-10513.
