COQUITLAM RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying two male suspects who were involved in a road rage incident that sent an adult male driver to hospital with serious injuries. The suspects were travelling in a white, four-door Tesla sedan.
On February 5 at 9:12 p.m., Coquitlam RCMP received a report of a road rage incident on Mary Hill Bypass at Kingsway Avenue in Port Coquitlam. During the altercation, the occupants of the white Tesla assaulted the driver of a grey Hyundai Elantra before fleeing westbound on Mary Hill Bypass. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“The Coquitlam RCMP are asking both male suspects involved to immediately come forward,” said Acting Sgt. John Graham, Coquitlam RCMP Media Relations Officer. “Driving in traffic can be frustrating, but there is no room in our communities for aggressive, assaultive behaviour. This violent road rage incident is unacceptable, and we want to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident on Wednesday, February 5 shortly after 9 p.m. to contact Coquitlam RCMP. Police are also seeking video footage, including surveillance, dashcam or cellphone video, from the intersection of Mary Hill Bypass and Kingsway Avenue between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
