ON Wednesday, August 9 at approximately 5:15 a.m., multiple witnesses called police to report a grey- or silver-coloured vehicle travelling the wrong way on Highway 1 eastbound near the Main Street exit. Two motorists, who narrowly avoided a head-on collision, ended up in a collision as a result of swerving away.

The driver of the vehicle travelling in the wrong lane, who was described as a male, was last seen near the Lynn Valley exit.

In an effort to further their investigation, North Vancouver RCMP are seeking public assistance to identify the vehicle and the driver, as well as any additional witnesses.

“Investigators are asking anyone who was travelling on Highway 1 in North Vancouver at approximately 5:15 a.m. with video evidence, or dash cam, to contact them at (604)-985-1311 and quote police file number 23-16936,” said North Vancouver RCMP Constable Mansoor Sahak.
