COQUITLAM RCMP are investigating a fatal vehicle fire in the parking lot of the City Centre Aquatic Complex located at 1210 Pinetree Way in Coquitlam.

Frontline officers attended the parking lot on Sunday, September 15 at 11:35 a.m. and located a person deceased inside the vehicle.

“This is a deeply tragic incident,” said Media Relations Officer, Cpl. Alexa Hodgins. “We want to assure the public that there is no risk to the public as this is believed to be an isolated event and is not linked to any ongoing conflicts.”

The file is still under investigation.
