A GoFundMe for truck driver Rajvinder Singh Sidhu, who died in a fiery crash on June 13 in the Roberts Bank causeway when two semis crashed along Deltaport Way, had raised $108,164 of its $75,000 goal by June 20. More than 900 people and organizations had donated since June 15 when it was launched.

The GoFundMe page stated: “Rajvinder Singh Sidhu passed away tragically while working to support his family living both here in Canada as well as back in India. He was the father of two children (a son and a daughter), and the only son and brother to three sisters.

“We have launched this campaign to assist Rajvinder’s family, as he was the only person providing financial support to all family members in both countries. All money donated will go directly to supporting his children as they pursue their futures here in Canada, as well as covering the costs of daily necessities of the rest of the family.

“We humbly ask you to donate generously, as Rajvinder was a good man and provider, and the fate he faced was at no fault of his own. We thank you for your consideration and potential assistance.”
