ON February 28, the New Westminster Police Department responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and driver near 11th Street and Queens Avenue.
The pedestrian called 9-1-1 to report that he had been struck by the driver of a dark SUV and that the driver fled the scene. The pedestrian told police that the driver continued south on 11th Street.
Officers arrived alongside BC Emergency Health Services paramedics. The pedestrian was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and police began collecting evidence. Officers are currently canvassing for CCTV and are asking witnesses or drivers with dash cam footage to come forward.
“Dash cam footage can be of great value to our investigators,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver on Monday. “Our investigators are grateful for any cooperation and will be reviewing all footage.”
