HARBANS Pandher, 67, of Surrey has been charged with the second-degree murder of his wife Jaswant, 64, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team announced on Monday.

Earlier, IHIT had said that the death of a female at a residence in the 6900-block of 152nd Street in Surrey on Sunday (November 23) appeared to be domestic-related.

Staff-Sgt. Jennifer Pound said: “As this investigation is early the motive appears unclear but evidence thus far suggests this to be domestic-related.”

On Sunday, just after 1 p.m., Surrey RCMP attended the residence for an unresponsive female.   Police found the female was dead and her injuries were consistent with foul play.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called in and assumed the lead on this investigation.

While at scene, the victim’s husband was arrested.

Jaswant Pandher’s funeral will take place at Delta’s Five Rivers Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30 at 11 a.m. with Bhog at Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran at 152 Street and 68 Avenue in Surrey at 1 p.m.
