Man driving dangerously in Surrey flees from police, arrested in Langley

ON January 3, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver near the 13900-block of Fraser Highway in Surrey. Frontline officers and RCMP Helicopter Air 1 became engaged in attempting to locate the vehicle, described as a silver Mercedes sports utility vehicle (SUV).

The SUV was located shortly thereafter, and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver did not stop and continued to drive recklessly, even after police vehicles had disengaged.

The SUV eventually stopped in the parking lot of the Willowbrook Mall in Langley. Langley RCMP officers converged on the mall and arrested the male driver and a female passenger. The female was subsequently released without charge.

Forty-seven-year-old Brad Donald Parisian is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; flight from police; possession of forged document; and fail to comply with an order.

Parisian remains in custody to await his next court appearance.

“Dangerous driving puts the public and everyone else on the road at risk”, said Media Relations Officer, Cpl. James Mason.  “We are thankful for the collective efforts of all officers which led to this timely arrest.”

Being as this matter is now before the courts, Surrey RCMP said they will not be releasing any further details.
